In a world that often forces women to choose one path, Dr. Manju Sheth has boldly forged several. A Boston-based physician and one of New England’s most recognizable community leaders, Dr. Sheth is a remarkable blend of science, service, and storytelling. With a medical stethoscope in one hand and a microphone in the other, she is on a mission to heal not only the body, but the soul of the society—especially through the voices and stories of women.
She is the President of India New England Multimedia, creator of the widely celebrated talk show series Chai With Manju, and the force behind the groundbreaking global platform Women Who Win. Dr. Sheth is also the community ambassador for Akshay Patra and served as president of Indian Medical Association. Women empowerment is very close to Dr. Sheth's heart and she has also served as the Chair of Advisory Board of Saheli. Whether caring for patients, hosting world leaders, or amplifying unheard voices through media, Dr. Sheth’s work is defined by empathy, authenticity, and vision.
The Physician: Healing Through Connection
Before the world came to know Dr. Sheth as a media leader, she was already a trusted physician known for her patient-centric care and community leadership. She has served with distinction at renowned institutions such as Beth Israel Lahey Health, Partners, and Atrius/Harvard Vanguard, where she also took an active role in diversity and inclusion efforts.
For Dr. Sheth, medicine is deeply personal. She believes that every patient has a story worth listening to. Quoting Dr. Abraham Verghese, she often reminds peers and patients alike that doctors must “rediscover the soul of medicine.” Her holistic approach to care—blending clinical precision with emotional insight—has earned her accolades and deep respect from her patients and peers.
Chai With Manju: Conversations that Matter
Created as a labor of love, "Chai With Manju" has grown into one of the most-watched South Asian talk show series in New England and beyond. Over tea, Dr. Sheth has interviewed changemakers like Senator Elizabeth Warren, Congressman Joe Kennedy, Sadhguru, Sudha Murthy, Sonu Nigam, Indra Nooyi, and Harvard Business School Dean Srikant Datar—just to name a few.
The interviews go beyond surface-level chatter. Dr. Sheth’s signature warmth and thoughtful questioning create space for guests to share candidly about life, leadership, spirituality, and the human condition. What began as a digital talk show has become a cultural archive and platform for cross-cultural dialogue.
“Everyone has a story,” Dr. Sheth often says. “And when we listen with purpose, we start to understand each other a little better.”
Women Who Win: A Movement for Voices Unheard
What started over coffee and cakes between three women with a shared dream quickly became a global force for change. Women Who Win is a free, accessible, and minority-women-owned 501(c)(3) media nonprofit that champions the authentic stories of women from all races, cultures, and walks of life.
As President and Co-Founder, Dr. Sheth has helped build a platform that curates powerful interviews, podcasts, webinars, and published books, spotlighting everyone from CEOs and technologists to artists and activists. With thousands of stories shared and lives touched, Women Who Win is a celebration of resilience, creativity, and sisterhood.
“We believe when women share their truths, it inspires others to do the same—and that ripple effect can change communities,” says Dr. Sheth.
In 2023, the platform expanded into publishing, with the release of two co-authored books: Women Who Win and Girls Who Win, both capturing compelling, real-life stories of inspiration.
A Voice on the Global Stage: TEDx Talk
In her recent TEDx Andover talk, Dr. Sheth delivered a deeply moving message on the transformative power of storytelling, especially from underrepresented communities like the South Asian diaspora. Drawing from her dual roles as a physician and a media voice, she shared the profound impact of one woman’s cancer story—a narrative that inspired a wave of women to prioritize their health, get timely screenings, and speak openly about their journeys.
With clarity and compassion, she emphasized how stories, when told with purpose, can spark policy change, influence behavior, and shift public consciousness.
“Stories have the power to change lives,” Dr. Sheth told the TEDx audience. “When we combine storytelling with cultural understanding, we can move communities—from silence to strength.”
Recognition and Legacy
Dr. Sheth’s impact has not gone unnoticed. She is the first Indian American to receive the Leadership in Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Award from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as honored by the Asian and Pacific Islanders Commission. She has also been listed among the 150 Most Influential Women in Massachusetts by the YWCA and named one of the 50 Most Influential Indian Americans in the state.
Through her leadership in major initiatives such as the New England Choice Awards, the Woman of the Year Gala, and community work with organizations like Saheli, ATASK, and Akshaya Patra USA, Dr. Sheth continues to be a champion of service, equity, and storytelling.
The Legacy of a Life Lived Fully
To know Dr. Manju Sheth is to witness a rare synergy: a woman who leads with both heart and intellect, a healer who listens as much as she cures, and a media voice that uplifts those who’ve long gone unheard.
Her journey is a powerful reminder that you don’t have to choose between science and creativity, or between a medical degree and a media dream. You can, like Dr. Sheth, choose both—and in doing so, create a life that touches hearts, opens minds, and transforms futures.
