As one of the very first international platforms to empower young writers aged 13-19, Write the World is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of thinkers and storytellers.
About Write the World
Write the World is an online writing community that has been inspiring young writers since its founding at Harvard University in 2012. In 2024 alone, over 7,000 young writers and 250 educators of Indian descent participated in Write the World’s free competitions, demonstrating a growing interest in various genres within the Indian community. The platform offers monthly writing competitions in different genres, including the upcoming Science Writing Competition, which opens on September 3rd.

About the Science Writing Competition
How do fireflies light up? How do sonar waves travel underwater? How does artificial intelligence actually work? In September, Write the World’s Science Writing Competition challenges teen writers to craft an article (400-1,000 words) that explains a scientific concept or idea in an engaging and creative way.
